V/B-date

Yesterday, the boyfriend and I squeezed in our long overdue V-date with the birthday date (he is 20 today!). It may be weird for some but in our relationship, it’s important to us that we prioritize acads over quality time together (though the extra special occasions are an exception), which is why we really pig out during the rare occasions our college schedules permit us to have. Yesterday was also the day I decided to start blogging about and documenting our food trips together.

We have this habit of having a “theme cuisine” whenever we go out on dates. As time has been very precious and not-so-generous this latter sem of the year, we would usually prioritize food over the usual date activities, to try out restos and cuisines. I guess I can say we’re foodies like that. We appreciate food in all forms — from the simple fare to the gastronomic ones — to the point that it got the attention of Kev’s mom (on the amount of food we eat whenever we go out). It may be a tad unladylike but heh. We just really love to eat!

We had lunch at this Korean restaurant, Kogi Bulgogi in Eastwood Mall as I let him choose this time (with a nagging feeling that I think he wanted to have lunch at Uncle Sherry’s - Italian, which I am not a fan of). But it was a good choice! I can’t wait for us to try Ye Dang in Metrowalk which is more authentic in my opinion, with barbecue grill tops on the table. Their food made me a FAN of Korean cuisine just late last year. I highly recommend it!

We planned to have NYFD fries and Happy Lemon for the movie afterward, but we were just too stuffed.

The usual Korean appetizers with Salmon Skin Sushi (yummy!!!).

The main event: Bulgogi Ssambap and Dweji Kalbi (yummy as well!!).

Kev’s favorite: Bibimbap! It was too hot and spicy for me but he loves it.

After the movie, we agreed on Happy Lemon to get our favorite Cocoa with Rock Salt and Cheese drink and decided to try the Milk Tea with Oreo Cookies and Cream - it was not as I expected it to taste like and wished we had gotten the coffee variant of it instead. My bad.

Next stop (hopefully): Gino’s Pizza in Katipunan and Van Gogh in Maginhawa.

Here’s to 20 years and to more good food with my favorite loser! :)

Truth is, I didn’t sleep like I said and had to finish this! TADAAAH. Guess what time I finished. HAHAHA. But for you, my birthday boy, it’s always worth it. :)

Please don’t judge, you know I don’t edit things and this is my first time to use Windows Movie Maker ever (me a noob like daaat) huhu. *My best effort* And yes, this is what you saw on my task bar yesterday. HEH. Convincing ba yung excuse ko? =))

Never knew this day, 20 years ago, would be an important date for me as well. Happy birthday, lucky guy!!!

Always the little things

Hah. Changed this to a text post just so I could put a title. lol

Once upon a time, there were two of you who always remembered the little things during the most trivial moments. My younger self used to be so enamored with the thought of it. Now when I read stuff like this, I always think of you both… then have a good laugh after. It may have been way back, but it always makes me smile.

Now when I read stuff like this, I always think of you both… then have a good laugh after. It may have been way back, but it always makes me smile.

It’s the little things.

My laptop died because I was too absorbed and too lazy to grab and plug my charger. As I was waiting for my laptop to boot up, I was staring into nothingness: thinking about how long this day felt — it felt weird how I have no one, for the first time in almost two years, to share my day with. All these as I stared into the black screen, waiting for the green light to die, listening to the loud ticking of my wall clock.

I was thinking of you and how I’d SMS you to ask about your day then I’d share you mine, but then I thought, cut being so needy, let him live his life. And I thought about that advice mom had always given me which I had religiously followed ever since: have an air of mystery when dealing with men, always be the mysterious type… (well, that was until you came into my life.)

Sighing, I shook all these thoughts and decided to have that damned air of mystery (which I was always so good at before!) and to make it seem as if I was letting you have your fun (what, with 24/7 of constantly being in my life, it’s about time I gave you your well deserved break). But once again, you read my mind like you always do, even from a thousand miles away in Orchard Road. As I literally took a deep breath and turned to type my password unto my laptop, my phone suddenly lit up and as I turned to see, my heart dropped: there it was, your SMS message.

How can it be that you’re always right on time? My heart warmed with happiness as I read how your day went (and you being cute, sending another text just cause you thought the first one wasn’t sent). Call me shallow and needy, but it’s these little things that mean so much to me.

Tonight, I don’t feel so alone anymore.

P.S. Sorry for the dent on your phone bill. :|

On the topic of having had spent time together shopping at the mall earlier today...

Just a little something from last night.

So my good friend, Timmy, Lea (a batchmate), Kev and I went to the Bloggers Bazaar last night, May 27 at the Malayan Plaza just in front of Podium originally just to tag along.

Kryz Uy, Tricia Gosingtian were some of the fashion bloggers who were present selling pre-loved clothes, shoes, accessories. As my original plan was not to buy anything cause I was dead broke, I stood and waited in the small area where a performance had just begun.

The guitarist turned out to be Tricia Gosingtian’s brother and I was surprised to see the pretty Tricia standing next to me on my right, as she was clicking away with her camera focused on her brother. Kev was on my left and from the corner of my eye I had a feeling he was gawking at her as well, just as I was, well because of her presence.

Call it (slight) jealousy, I knew he had been staring at her for a looong while and I just had to look at him to confirm it. Instead, I was surprised to see him staring at me with his usual endearing, smiling eyes and instead of smiling back, in a huge huge effort to hide the *kilig*, I promptly snapped, “O ba’t ka nakatingin?” and tried not to smile for the next 20 minutes. =))

And btw, I also caught you staring when you got off the car to check the gas gauge when we loaded up at the gas station (HAHA assuming)

Just because unexpected and unplanned dates and simple things like these are the best. Thank you for the shopping treat (and for being a great shopping buddy!), dinner and driving me home last night! <3 And thank you Timmy for forcing me to tag along ;)

K wala lang KILIG post. <3 Minsan lang mag overshare.
